The Ball Clay Heritage Society
Ball clay was the original reason for the existence of the Stover Canal. The Ball Clay Heritage Society, in its own words, ‘exists to preserve, conserve and realise the rich heritage of ball clay production in South and North Devon and Dorset, and to further public knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the industry.’

Templer Way – GPS Walking Route
The Templer Way is an 18 mile long heritage trail that follows, as closely as possible, the route of the Granite Tramway, Canal and the River Teign from the Haytor Quarries high on Dartmoor to the docks at Teignmouth. The route is well signposted and can equally be enjoyed in sections or in its entirety.
A significant part of the canal runs alongside land quarried by Sibelco. The company has been a generous and enthusiastic supporter of the work of the Stover Canal Society and Stover Canal Trust, having provided both financial and practical assistance.
Kelly Mine
Another local heritage site, Kelly Mine is a Devon iron mine situated on the eastern flank of Dartmoor near Lustleigh. Orefrom this mine was carried on the Stover Canal.

Disused Stations -Teigngrace Halt
The remains of this railway station halt on the Teign Valley line between Newton Abbot and Exeter can be seen from the upper reaches of the canal towpath. The buildings can be seen in their former glory on this website.
